It is the little things that make a relationship special—thoughtful gestures, quiet moments and, in one woman’s case, the lockscreen on her boyfriend’s phone.

A TikTok video has gone viral after Xyza, 28, shared how her boyfriend Luke has changed his wallpaper over time to feature photos of her. The clip struck a chord with over 457,000 viewers who liked it, along with over 610 comments.

Xyza told Newsweek about the wallpaper change, which she said happened organically—without any prompting from her.

“POV [point of view]: Your boyfriend showing you his lockscreen progression since you started dating,” she captioned the video. “Feels amazing when your partner is just as obsessed with you as you are with him.”

A Love Story in Wallpapers

Xyza said that she and her boyfriend met in December 2023. Then, his wallpaper was just the generic Earth photo available on Apple phones.

“As we started getting to know each other, I would send him pictures of me—the ones I posted on Instagram—since he doesn’t have social media,” Xyza said. “I didn’t even realize it at first, but one of those pictures became his wallpaper.”

That quiet act was a reflection of the kind of person Luke is, she added.

“He never mentioned it; I just saw it one day, and it was so sweet because I never asked him to do it,” Xyza said. “That’s just the kind of person he is—he does things out of pure love and thoughtfulness, without needing to be prompted.”

Xyza noticed a sweet pattern in Luke’s wallpaper history—before they met, his wallpapers were always of places he dreamed of visiting.

“First, he had a picture of New York, then a photo of the world,” Xyza said. “Then, ever since we started dating, it’s been me. Someone even commented on my video saying, ‘He always had the world as his wallpaper—first the literal world, and now you, his world,’ which was such a sweet way of putting it.”

As their relationship evolved, so did the lockscreen choices. From a professional headshot of Xyza that Luke first loved, to a candid photo from their first trip together, to a family holiday photo and even one where he didn’t love the color of her dress, but still picked it because of her smile.

“The wallpaper he had the longest was one from a dinner with my friends,” Xyza said. “I sent it to him, and he immediately lost his mind over it, saying I looked ‘LP’—which is our little inside joke for ‘Loro Piana,’ meaning elegant, clean and chic. He kept that one for months.”

For Xyza, the wallpaper changes are a tiny and meaningful reminder of how much she is cherished.

“He changed his wallpaper just three months into dating, without me ever mentioning it, which showed me how proud he was of me; how much he wanted to see me every day,” Xyza said. “For a guy who isn’t usually the sentimental type, that’s a big thing.”

And now, the most recent wallpaper? “We just got engaged over the new year! So his most-recent wallpaper is now of me with my engagement ring,” she said.

For those still searching for love, Xyza said she hopes their story serves as a reminder: “Good, healthy love exists.”
