December 2024 has a variety of films entertaining the audience. Different films of different genres have successfully entertained the cinephiles in the festive season of Christmas. On one side, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, on the other side we have Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King. This week, Varun also brought a Christmas treat for his fans with Baby John, and down south in Kannada Kiccha Sudeep ended 2024 with a bang, as his film Max is being loved by the masses. But who’s leading the race?
Baby John box office collection
As per Sacnilk, Baby John opened decent on December 25, Wednesday, but it went on to decline in the following days. As per the portal, Baby John opened with Rs 11.25 crores, followed by Rs 4.75 on Day 2 (Thursday), and Rs 3.65 on Day 3 (Friday). Till now, Baby John has grossed only Rs 19.65 crores in India.
Mufasa: The Lion King box office collection
Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King was released in December 20, and it has scored well in India. In eight days the film earned Rs 80.85 crores, with Rs 29.15 crores in English, Rs 27.1 crores in Hindi, Rs 11.95 crores in Telugu, and Rs 12.65 crore Tamil. The movie’s Hindi version is dubbed by Shah Rukh Khan, and the Telugu version is dubbed by Mahesh Babu.
Max box office collection
Kiccha Sudeep’s Kannada actioner Max was released with Baby John on December 25, and it opened with positive reviews from critics and the masses. Max has scored the biggest weekend of Sandalwood in 2024. The movie opened with Rs 8.70 crore on Wednesday. On Thursday, the film suffered a big drop, collecting only Rs 3.85 crores. However, on Friday, the movie saw a growth, earning Rs 4.15 crores. In three days, Max has grossed Rs 16.70 crores.
Pushpa 2: The Rule box office collection
December 2024 is owned by Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule. Even in it’s fourth week, the film continues to dominate the audience, earning more than other releases. In 23 days, the movie has grossed Rs 1128 crores in India, and Rs 250 crores from overseas, taking the total collection around Rs 1558 crores.
Who won the box office race?
Clearly, Pushpa 2 is leading the box office race, followed by Mufasa: The Lion King, then Baby John, and then Max. However, Max is expected to surpass Baby John in the extended weekend collections.
